Member Protection Information Officer
Member Protection Information Officers (MPIO) are people trained to be the first point of contact within sporting organisations for any person considering making a complaint under the Member Protection Policy. MPIO's provide confidential, impartial and timely information and support.
They act as a sounding board and provide information about the local complaint resolution options available to address the individual's concerns.
All sporting organisations have legal obligations to their members, participants, officials and the community in relation to harassment, discrimination and child protection under anti-discrimination and child protection laws.
Sporting organisations also have a moral and professional obligation to establish appropriate standards of behaviour and ensure their sporting activities and environments are safe, fair, respectful and accessible.
If you are subjected to harassment, discrimination or abuse while playing netball, spectating or umpiring netball games, the MPIO should be contacted.
